AmigosChat is an internet community for Hispanics seeking to establish business and social connections around the world. This privacy policy explains the collection and use of personal information you share when using AmigosChat, located at www.amigos.chat.com and any services or features offered by the website. AmigosChat is hosted in the United States.
Your privacy is very important to us and we want you to be aware that you control your own personal information by choosing whom you share information with on our site.
As a user of AmigosChat, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy. This policy may be revised to reflect changes in procedures and practices, technology, law, or other modications and will be effective when posted. It is advisable to review this Policy from time to time, as your continued use of AmigosChat signifies your acceptance of these changes.
Information Collection
AmigosChat collects personal information voluntarily submitted through our website in including information provided when you register such as your name, email address, zip code, and gender as well as additional personal information you may provide in the profiles, forums, and other areas of the site.
AmigosChat collects additional information from all users including IP address and browser type, along with “cookies”. Cookies are bits of data that provide information about the user that are stored in the users computer. This information is used to manage and enhance AmigosChat services, track user data, and for security.
As a member of AmigosChat, you may provide personal information when you create a profile including date of birth, hobbies, interests, affiliations with schools or businesses, lifestyle, photos, or messages. This information is provided at your own discretion and is accessable to other members when posted as public. AmigosChat enables members to establish privacy settings to control access to your profile information. While these settings are designed to protect the privacy of our members, we cannot guarantee privacy since no security methods are failsafe. Personal information you share with others is at your own risk, and the actions of users whom you have authorized access to your information are beyond our control.
Personal information you provide to AmigosChat may be processed in the country where it was obtained, as well as in the United States.
Information Use
As a registered member of AmigosChat, your profile and the personal information it contains, may be viewed by the community of AmigosChat members. This information is provided to allow members to contact you and will be used to allow members to use the search function to locate others using criteria such as location or gender. You control which part of your profile information is accessable, as well as who has access to that information through the privacy settings.
From time to time, we may use your name and email address to send information about AmigosChat services and offerings. You may opt out of these types of emails here. AmigosChat may, however, continue to send information regarding your account, regardless of whether you opt out of email notifications.
Certain areas of AmigosChat, including the forums, chat rooms, and message boards will display personal information you have entered. Please understand that information posted publicly on AmigosChat will be accessable to all visitors to the site. Information collected by AmigosChat may be analyzed for our internal purposes.
Information Sharing
AmigosChat does not provide your personal information to third parties unless:

Third Party Advertising
AmigosChat has arrangements with third-party advertisers to serve advertisements directly to our users. When ads are served on our site, advertisers receive information including your IP address, and other information that enables them serve ads relevant to you, as well as measure the effectiveness of their ads. Your personal information is not available to third party advertisers.
Editing or Deleting Your Account Information
The Profiles section on AmigosChat provides you access to manage your personal information. Our members may change or remove any part or their profile information or delete their account, if they choose, by accessing My Account in the Profiles. Changes will be made immediately, however, changed information may remain in backup copies not accessable to users.
Content or other data that you may have posted in other areas such as Forums or Messages, will continue to remain on the site at our discretion.
No Guarantees
This Privacy Policy states our standards for collection and maintenance or personal information, and we make every effort to these standards. However, we cannot guarantee these standards, as security risks cannot be completely eliminated. AmigosChat uses safeguards to limit access to personal information about our members to employees and third parties, yet factors beyond our control may result in disclosure of data. As a result, we disclaim any warranties or representations relating to maintenance or nondisclosure of data.
Use by Children
AmigosChat does not intentionally collect or solicit information from children under the age of 13 and does not intentionally allow such children to register. Children between the ages of 13 and 18 should obtain parental permission before sharing any personal information on the Internet.
Changes to this Policy
AmigosChat may make changes to this policy from time to time, and will notify you about significant changes either by posting a notice on our site or sending a message to your email address your have provided. Your continued use of the site serves as acknowledgement of these changes and your agreement to them.
